About CIOC Software

CIOC software products connect people to information about Community Services, Businesses, Volunteer Opportunities, and more. Our software supports the professionals who help to make those connections between people and the information they need, through effective tools for matching needs to information and tracking client requests. Our software products have been used to support the efforts of local Community Information Centres, 211 Call Centres, Volunteer Centres, Community Care Access Centres, Economic Development departments, and many others.

All software products are available in Canadian English and French languages and the capacity to support other languages in the future. We are currently working towards creating versions of our help documents and other supportive services in French language format.

CIOC software is membership-based, and we encourage organizations that become members to participate in the CIOC Community and become an active part of the CIOC organization. We rely on our members' ideas, efforts, and resources to make the software and the organization the best it can be. When you become a member of CIOC, you are not buying a boxed software product - you are joining an active community that encourages co-operative development and the sharing of ideas and information.

Co-operative Development and Customization

CIOC members are actively involved in the ongoing development of the software, through the contribution of good ideas and resources. Wherever possible, we try to accommodate members requirements in our ongoing software development work. Member-suggested enhancement requests are tracked and prioritized by a committee comprised of volunteers from our membership. If a member's priorities for a given enhancement exceed the priority given by the committee and CIOC is unable to allocate its funds to the enhancement within the needed time frame, members have the option of contributing resources towards the completion of any approved enhancements. CIOC makes every effort to approve enhancements required to meet individual members' needs by making new features optional or customizable if they do not meet the needs of the membership as a whole.

CIOC is grateful for the past and ongoing contributions of its members and co-operating organizations. Please visit our Contributors page for more information!
